With the plan of Nova Scotia entering a modified Phase 5 of its pandemic plan on Monday, October 4, 2021, Acadia University will maintain many of the current health and safety protocols in keeping with their safety-first approach.

With the recent announcement by the Province of Nova Scotia, the Nova Scotia Health Authority anticipates the beginning of Phase 5 of the provincial reopening plan to occur on September 15, 2021.

The Acadia swimming pool will reopen to the community beginning this Monday, June 21. The pool will return to its operational parameters set prior to the April 28 Provincial shutdown.

Based on the announcement today by the Government of Nova Scotia, the Province will be moving to Phase 2 of the five-phase reopening plan. With the announcement of Phase 2, the Acadia Athletics Complex will reopen to students and community members on Thursday, June 17 beginning at 6:30 am.

The current state in Nova Scotia has forced us to revisit our operational plan and put in place measures that limit access to the Acadia Athletics Complex to ensure the safety of our students and members.

Beginning Monday, February 8th, sever parts of the Acadia Athletics Complex will be re-opened to Acadia staff/students and Community memberships including the Walking Track, Pool and Racquetball / Squash Courts.

As the winter break for the Acadia Campus nears, we wanted to provide members with an update to our available services and programs, winter break hours, and plans for 2021.

Our plan is to welcome back our community users with memberships to the Athletics Complex’s Fitness Centre on Monday, October 12. Only those with existing memberships will be allowed to access the Fitness Centre. No drop-ins are allowed at this time – you must be an existing member to access the Fitness Centre.

Acadia students will soon be allowed to access the fitness centre, fitness programming and alternate sport & recreation after quarantine period is completed.

Acadia University's Department of Athletics revealed its fall plan to offer its student body an opportunity to engage in sport and fitness during a COVID-19 altered setting on the Acadia campus.
